About Me

"Darling, you feel heavy because you are too full of truth. Open your mouth more. Let the truth exist somewhere other than inside your body."

- Della Hicks-Wilson

I believe you are the expert of your experience, and my role as your counselor is to help you tap into your inner wisdom, develop skills, find meaning and purpose, and empower you to cultivate the life you truly want.

Our work together is directed by your goals, and remains flexible to flow with your needs in different chapters of life. Some sessions we may dive into past trauma if needed - and some we will process current stressors and focus on practical skills. I trust that everything connects. Your overall wellness and growth is our biggest point of focus.

I use a blend of evidence-based approaches and have specialized training in EMDR and Intuitive Eating.  I enjoy helping people work through: anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating, body image, and difficult life transitions and relationships. My approach is warm, authentic, collaborative and non-pathologizing; I see you as a WHOLE person, not a diagnosis.

CREDENTIALS:

B.A. in Communication & Sociology - University of Southern Maine

ON A MORE PERSONAL NOTE:

I was born and raised in the mountains of Maine and now reside near the coast.  I have clinical experience working with clients of all ages in K-12 schools, university centers, residential treatment facilities, retirement communities, group practices, and in private practice. I have counseled individuals, groups and families. Before switching careers into counseling,  I worked in marketing and as a personal trainer. I decided to switch career paths after counseling changed MY life. I found peace and worth when I did not think it was possible, and it soon became my calling in life to help others find theirs. My experience as a personal trainer and helping college athletes with their mental health led to an interest in working with athletes of all ages, and working with disordered eating and body image issues. This experience also makes me a firm believer in the mind-body connection. I chose to pursue training in EMDR to help people release from past traumas and messaging, not only emotionally - but physically as well.

I love the ocean, the mountains, and in my spare time you can find me hiking, paddleboarding, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, and outside with my family and our rescue dogs.
